Each painting takes me full circle, much like the title of this latest show...DESTINYS LOOP! To paint and to paint well, one must surrender oneself, give in to the spirit, to the soul and to the ecstasy of existing on the brink and to exist in the eye of the storm. That, to me, is Destiny's Loop! Once completed, the urge, the desire, and the longing… hit me again. It is unquestionably a never- ending journey where I am answerable only to myself. The power of imagination knows no bounds - much like the Universe. That universe exists in my mind as well & yet my feet are inextricably bound to the land - MY LAND, which I now recognise was never mine to begin with.

Somia Naveed
Somia Naveed is a contemporary artist working between pigment, paper, and silence. Her practice centres on cobalt — a colour she treats less as a hue and more as a material memory. Each work begins as a slow accumulation of washes and ends at the precise moment the composition asks for nothing more. Her works are held in private collections internationally.
